Pay to Try (PTT) – Suggestions if you choose to work these types of programs…

In my opinion, it’s very important to track everything you do if you choose to work these types of programs, especially if you plan to do multiple offers through multiple programs on a regular basis

I highly recommend that you document each trail offer you sign up for by program.  I suggest using an Excel spreadsheet to track this (my personal favorite…I’m addicted to Excel J).  Be sure to note in your documentation the following information at a minimum:

~ Program name (the company that is offering you cash for completing the offer)

~ Retailer name (the company that’s actually selling you the product/service)

~ Retailer URL

~ Sign Up Date

~ Trial Period End Date

~ Retailer phone

~ Retailer e-mail

~ Retailer address (if one is given)

~ Retailer fax (if one is given)

~ Comments - note here if they specify how you have to cancel and any other pertinent information.

~ Credit Card Used - This is important especially if you’ll be using more than one card to do your offers.  I highly recommending using one card for all offers as that’s easier to track.  I also recommend using an American Express, if you have one and where accepted as their dispute process is in favor of the card holder and not the retailer like Visa and Mastercard.

~ Date Cancelled - The date you communicated your cancellation to the retailer

~ Cancellation method (i.e. how you communicated your cancellation, e-mail, phone, etc.)

~ Date Cancellation Acknowledgement Received - Regardless of how you cancel, demand written notification that your trial offer was cancelled.  If the company is good, they would have sent you one even if you didn’t ask.
